OPS. INDEX |
WICEN supports special events which are usually attended by the public and often draw large crowds. They provide public relations opportunities for radio amateurs who provide support communications on a complimentary basis. They make our activities visible to non-"Amateurs". They provide opportunities to use our equipment, apply our knowledge and sharpen our skills. Besides, operating on special events is just plain fun! To be able to continue to have these opportunities it is essential that we do, and are seen to, operate in a professional manner. In these circumstances "Amateur" certainly does not mean unprofessional. This applies both technically and personally.
Each event will have its own specific requirements which will be highlighted in pre-event communications and briefings.
